Safety Flash

Published: 29th May, 2019

The club has recently been contacted by the lifeboat station to remind us all of the recommendation to carry adequate safety equipment on all trips, this was prompted by a recent incident when an angling boat based in Scarborough broke down and had to be towed in by the lifeboat, the vessel in question had no means of summoning help other than a mobile phone & no anchor, whilst the cub believes that its members are unlikely to be in this situation we would like to draw everyone’s attention to the safety advice on this site regarding recommended safety equipment, additionally we do have a safety officer Graham Asquith who is happy to give advice and arrange for an informal survey if anyone is unsure of their boats status. http://www.scarboroughboatanglingclub.co.uk/safety/
