Cup Matches – Contributing to the TC Challenge
The Hall Challenge Cup
To be fished for on any Saturday or Sunday in October.
The Colin Monkman and David Ridehalgh Trophy
to be fished on the Saturday or Sunday nearest 23rd November or subsequent Saturday or Sunday
Harold Hodgson Memorial Trophy
To be fished 1st weekend in February, or any subsequent Saturday or Sunday.
The Nibby Lloyd Cup
To be fished for on the Saturday or Sunday nearest to 4th March or subsequent Saturday or Sunday. Codling only to be weighed in for this trophy.
Cup Matches – Non TC – 10 mile boundary applies
The Elizabethan Trophy
For the heaviest fish caught in the competition on the 1st weekend after Coronation day.
Pat Blakey Memorial Shield
To be fished the nearest weekend in October to Patricks Birthday. This has subsequently been amended and has recently been fished in August.
Annual Awards
TC Challenge Tropy
Cup presented to the club by T Crossfield
Rules submitted by T Crossfield and R Turner. These allow for the rules to be fine tuned and changed each year if found necessary. the only rules set in stone are the competition is fished over Land Rock, 10 miles either side of scarborough Lighthouse and one nautical mile from the nearest land.
As the club now fishes 12 matches a year, and 10 of these form the TC challenge, the above boundaries are used for all contributing matches. The other 2 matches ( the Elizabethan and Pat Blakey) have boundaries extending to 10 miles from Scarborough Lighthouse.
The Booth Challenge Cup
For the aggregate of an anglers best five individual weights caught in competition’s during the club year.
The Ronday Challenge Cup
For the best individual aggregate during the club year from all competitions. The Booth Trophy winner is ineligible for this award.
The Jackson Trophy
For the best total aggregate for lady or junior members caught in competition during the club year.
The Ellis Memorial Trophy
For the heaviest single cod caught in competition during the club year.
The Horsfall Turner Trophy
For the heaviest single fish, other than Cod, caught in competition during the club year.
The Kingfisher Trophy
To be awarded annually for the heaviest single fish caught out of competition.
The Reg Bell Memorial Trophy
(this was amended for the 2005/2006 season)
To be awarded annually for the heaviest single fish caught by a junior in competition.
The Dawson Cup
To be won for the heaviest Haddock in or out of competition during the club year.
The Heather Belle Memorial Bowl
Awarded annually for the Heaviest single Whiting caught in or out of competition.
Len Dawson Memorial Trophy
Best specimen fish for the year in or out of competition.
East Coast Pest Control Cup
Heaviest Total aggregate by a junior in competition over the season.
Bill (Coso) Costin Challenge
For the heaviest aggregate of an anglers heaviest single fish caught in the 2 matches with 10 mile boundaries, namely the Elizabethan Trophy and the Pat Blakey Memorial Shield.
