Light tackle Float Fishing for Pollock
Published: 5th Jul, 2016
Definitely my favourite way to catch these sporting fish, the preferred bait for float fishing is live sandeel, unfortunately I have not so far managed to find a reliable mark close to Scarborough, so with a fine morning we headed to the Smithick Sands in Brid Bay where they were soon coming aboard 5 at a time, the initial plan was to try for Bass around Flamborough but as soon as we got our bait the wind started to Freshen from the South East so rather than have an uncomfortable trip back we headed straight back to Filey Brigg & started working the Eels on a our light Spinning rods & fixed spool reels, The action was pretty none stop with several fish between 6 & 8lb and one which I estimate was 10lb for Marion plus plenty abetween 2 & 4lb, we got a few Cod on shads for dinner but all the Pollock were returned.
- 10lb Pollock for Marion?
- lucky fish
- fish on
- one for Dave
- Another for lucky Marion
- fish on again
